Hi just had invite to look at the new Benimar motor homes no intentions of buying but realy impressed and said to sales man you could not offer me what I want for mine. He only gave us 2000 less than we paid 3yrs ago and we got awning / tow bar factory fit/ and free insurance for a yr included ,but I was thinking of trying to sell private and was wondering if I sold it what would be the best way to make sure of payment other then cash?what would be a good place to advertise ?not trying to be greedy just think I could get more which could help towards reinstating my strikeback growler alarm which I don't think I can do with out

We thought the Benimars were the most interesting motorhomes at the NEC show last October - Trigano group so very like our Chausson but with some excellent extras for the UK market (y) When selling a classified ad (fixed cost ad) on eBay will probably reach the most people with the least chance of silly beggars as then they have to view to arrange buying in person & bank transfer for payment just before collection. We have never sold a motorhome but have sold caravans & cars this way. Think you can also put an ad on here or at least post the details & photos :)

Online payment is the best way these days, banks can no longer reverse payments, where a cheque can recended up to 6months after being cashed.
Cash is not very practical, do you really want to count out 30,40k or more in notes and check every note for forgery.
Sold my van last year buyer paid deposit on line, when they picked up the van paid balance online via their phone & it was in my account in seconds.

many many years! since I was a kid
anything over £5k and i will only take bank transfer or cash paid into my bank before i release the keys

last van i sold, i escorted the buyer to my bank, where he handed a load of cash to the bank employee. he left the room for a couple of minutes and confirmed the cash was ok and gave me a printout of my account. i then handed the buyer the keys and documents. all very business like and professional but most of all stress free for both parties
