Hi my name is Noah & I am new to all forums. I have been camping, caravanning & MH-ing for over 25 years. Just sold my Sprinter 3 months ago as I am about yo retire. Planning to long term Motor home in UK & Europe. Would like advice on either American RV or stick to the UK type (ie Auto-Trail) we do like our comfort though. Looking at 25-30ft but have concerns about the European side of things - all advice would be welcome.

Hi Noah, welcome to the fun. My advice..Buy the smallest motorhome you can comfortably live in, anything more is a waste of space and fuel:) European or Yank, staying under 30ft is a good idea, though it's always the width of an RV that might get you into trouble, rarely the length. Mind you, if you'll be loading all those animals 2 by 2 then even the largest RV is going to be too small :)

:welc: you will get all the answers you want here - some may even be sensible and some of those useful! Seriously this is the BEST site for motorhomes ever.

I second Jim's excellent advice as to motorhome size. We've had a very small PVC (panel van conversion), a huge Hymer and now have a compact Chausson. All did what we wanted at the time we had them.

Remember you can always add an awning or safari room..... some new van even have the American style slide outs which might be worth you looking at.

Make a list of things you have to have, things you would like and things you don't want, that way you can cut down on the list of models to look at.

Then the priorities (perhaps not in the correct order) are

Layout
Number of travel seats (belted seats)
Berths
Payload

Good luck!
