I have just got a new insurance policy and they are asking for us to go online to Gov.Uk to get a code to share licence info as there isn't a paper copy anymore, has anyone else had this? Also my co drivers are not happy to do this could they take out a separate insurance for themselves with another company?

Hi, I am not 100% sure but as the paper part of the driving licence is "no longer valid" (see link below) the insurance company can only check your points with the DVLA direct, so again this is an assumption they "probably " need you to give them permission via this code to do that.

I would think that this will be the norm going forward.
