Well new to me anyway - havent seen this one before and it is quite convincing .
I received the email below purporting to be from Apple telling me I had bought some computer games. My first thought was that somebody has cracked my apple id password and ordered stuff on my account. I was about to click on the link to cancel the order when i spotted that it was addressed to my email account and not to me personally by name.
Next i spotted the invoice was in US dollars but VAT Had been added at UK rate
Then i clicked on the sending address which is notify@getsupport.apple.com and googled it. SCAM warnings all over the place so i have deleted the email without clicking on any links but no doubt will receive many versions of it over the next few months.
I have changed my apple id as well just to be sure.
    Be safe out there!

BTW the very comvincing formatting has been lost when I copied and pasted, it looked very convincing.

Report it to Apple so that they can deal with it.

You might want to edit your post and remove your email address. This forum is spidered by search engines and you don't want your email address on there for spammers to find.

Never, ever click on a link in an email and then you are very unlikely to be caught out by any scam. Most legitimate businesses don't include links in their emails for that very reason.

When you get spam Apple ones before deleting it you should forward it as an attachment to reportphishing@apple.com

It's important that you forward it as an attachment instead of just forwarding it because if you just forward it then useful header data is lost.

    http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/more-resources/phishing/

It does help and they do act on them.

Most of the other big providers - Amazon, eBay, Paypal etc - have similar email addresses and they do like these phishing attempts forwarded to them so they can take action. It's worth taking a couple of minutes to do this before deleting the message.
