I'm no sure that's the case... No payments will be taken at the toll.. It will be similar to the congestion charging... With a tag option at the station for regulars.... Should be a huge improvement... And if my Sanef tag works... All the better

... Apparent foreign drivers will be pursued in europe if they don't pay...

My office is in the Thurrock side right underneath the bridge. I do not believe that the horrendous queues will go away, even with dynamic tolling

I came through on 2nd Oct. Heading east towards the M 11. It was mayhem, we were all ushered into 2 left hand lanes where we still had to pay cash. Any one know what happens now ? there website is hopeless.

Supposed to be free from 2003 when the costs were paid and then they kept the toll as a "congestion" charge. Yeah, right.......

....so now they have (alleged) free flow and (they say) no congestion, will they drop the congestion related toll charge? Will they hell!!

FREE! The Mersey Tunnels were built in 1933 and 1972. The first one had the same promise of it being free, currently the toll is £1.70 one way, dream on Kent!

I've had a few emails from them regarding transferring my DartTag account. The latest one said that the transfer has been put back to November ... although they didn't say which year ;)

Dart Charge is basically the same as the London Congestion Charging scheme.
So, given your example, you'll be able to pay in advance.
Or have an account to be charged directly.
Or pay after with a set time period.

Yep, it should by now be free. But, while the cash cow keeps on giving ....

I've got a Dart-Tag. Like the other poster mentioned, they keep emailing to say that the change over to having no toll booths will now be November. The reason they give for this is that they want to fully test the system before going live. What a spin!!!

The road system won't be fully operational until Spring 2015. Wouldn't be surprised if the charging scheme isn't ready till then either!

I can see some real problems with accidents going Kent bound. Assuming it won't be slow already, they will really need to slow the traffic down considerably (which might defeat the original object?). Can't see them allowing the traffic a 70mph throughput.

Wonder what's going to happen to fuel tankers/ hazardous loads going Essex bound? At the moment, all of the toll booths close whilst these vehicles are given escorted passage through the tunnel. Questions, questions EH?
