Two factors:
a) How quickly the mapping suppliers (mainly Navteq & TeleAtlas) update the base maps.
b) How quickly after that the sat nav company offers the updated maps for sale.

My first (Tom Tom) sat nav was a present I received for Christmas 2005, several months after the A1 upgrade around Ferrybridge was completed but still showing the old road. It was 2 or 3 years before they actually got it properly corrected after several erroneous attempts.

They should have it on the maps as they planned it 25 years ago. :Eeek:

You don't need a sat nav, just follow the M74 signs & you will appear as if by magic on the west side of Glasgow missing out all the city foul-ups.

The o.p. was in July & now it's open and from all accounts making a big difference to the mate through Glasgow & for us all travelling to the West of Scotland. :thumb:

Been using this part of the M74 to get to the airport as it is far easier/quicker and less hassle to use.
Bought a Tom Tom Go last November and update it regularly , it has the new section on it now !!

I assume it`s Rutherglen to Pollckshields?
