We require a place to park up (not an aire) 1-2 hrs drive along the A26 from Calais.
Last year during high season I tried to park at the aire overlooking the ferry entrance but it was full. We got there at 2300 hrs. We normally drive from calais down the A16 then onto the N1 to a liitle town called Samer (just off J28 on the A16) and park up on a car park adjacent to the square. We are away by 0800am so as not to get blocked in or take up the places used by the locals.
This year we are heading to Lake Garda, so if I shoot down the toll roads I want to park up somwhere similar to what I have described above.
Namely a quiet place just off the A26, incidently we have never been on this road as we have always headed to West/South France.
I am in the process of digesting lots of threads applicable to Lake garda and various routes.
