...close to buying my first MH (AT Apache 632) and was thinking about a name for 'it'.

Surfing around several forums, websites etc I notice many people give theirs a name.

    Question is... why?

    Tradition?
    Bit of fun?
    Has to be done?
    ???

...and make or female? ...and why?

I like the idea and would like to better understand what and why.

    TIA

    Always name vehicles.
Has to be a ladies name - often related to number plate or make of vehicle.

there is no hope, Brenda has already named our next van even before we have got it. mostly names are based on the number plate it has before we change it or the manufacturer

our 1st MH was an Apache 700SE, it was named Isla by the previous owners, we didnt like that and renamed (and chrome lettere'd) her as Indy.
Our upgrade to an Arapaho could not carry a girls name .. its so much bigger we named him ARNY (as in Schwarzenegger), I have new chrome lettering waiting to be affixed .. .. :)

We have a name for ours, she'd be offended if we just referred to her as 'The Van'.
