Please can a fellow traveller advise me on how much of the N10 heading for Spain, is toll and recent price would be helpful too. We are a 6.5 metre MH. Thankyou

The N10 south of Bordeaux is no more, replaced by the A63 (I think) which is tolled for perhaps 150 kms...Perhaps that portion would be 15-20 Euros...Further north the N10 will be a free 'trunk' road normally dual carriageway...

We bypassed the 1st two tolls South of Bordeaux but stayed on the A63 past Bayonne and came off just over the Spanish border. Paid around €11 for 7mtr and under 3mtr high motorhome.

We prefer the A20 which is toll free as far a Brive, the N10 is mostly an 80km limit for over 3.5t.

The 3.5T limit is only for 'commercial vehicles', so the limit for MHs over 3.5Ts is 100Kph on the dual sections...Also you are allowed to O/T while commercial vehicles can't for long stretches...

Basically it's free but slow if you are over 3.5 as all the lorries use. Have a look at the N12

If you study the signs, in a lot of the sections it shows just the weight and no pic of a truck. This to me means any vehicle over 3.5t not just trucks. Mine is 4250kg but looks like most French 3500 camping cars. I am always cautious down that section.

Correct! but have a look at the guidance in the bottom section of the link I posted and you will see how to navigate the vast majority of it toll free and the tolls at the bottom end which you don't want to aviod.

That was my reading of the signs. Not heard anything from when I got flashed twice in a couple of miles last year. Don't think French system ties up with the UK yet.

I have been flashed a few times as well, Usually around Angouleme. However I think at that points it is the trucks over 3.5t that's in effect. Never heard anything and i put it down to the vans height, they look at camera and see a "camping car".
The 3.5t all vehicles does seem to operate lower down on the N10.
