We travel in Spain a fair bit nowadays and I thought it might be nice if I started a thread asking people to tell others where their favourite place is and give a impression of it in five photo's or less.

A brief description of where to stay etc might be good as well.

To start:
My favourite place in Spain is Albarracin, is around 1000 years old and near Turuel. There is a acsi site there and a camper stop. I have seen motorhomes staying in the small car park near the tunnel and the larger carpark near the river.

My fave is the most southern bit ;)

El Hierro, nicknamed Isla del Meridiano (the "Meridian Island"), is the smallest and farthest south and west of the Canary Islands (an Autonomous Community of Spain), in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa, with a population of 10,162 (2003). Its capital is Valverde. At 268.71 square kilometres, it is the smallest of the seven main islands of the Canaries.

Five photo's or less please Yorick :D2:D2

My favourite place in Spain is Albarracin,

That's a little know gem !

Ignoring the snowbird's winter Spain and the grand sights I'll toss in El Puerto Stanta Maria as a relaxing seaside town with loads of character and history, all linked to sherry. Great for cycling.

Can't be bothered to look up pictures but here are some locations......

All these buildings were devoted to sherry once, ready to jump on the ships....

I quite like where we live in Spain and I like Albarracin also. One of our recently visited favourite places is the Canon del Rio Lobos between Burgos and Soria. Motorhomes can stay overnight in the parking area. It's free in low season and €5 in high season (Easter and July and August)

yes we do los lobos as a 2nd night stop when we arrive in spain . first night torrelavaga .
never seen any wolves there but there is supposed to be some . lots vultures though.
then we go to lac de gallocanta there is in november up to 50,000 cranes get there on the migration . again free parking by the information center. one of the staff there is scottish and they know us there. great place ,like being in a wild life film when the birds are there . amazing .
its not far from albarracin possibly half way between there and los lobos .

Maybe not a favourite place but well worth a visit. A city, which we don't normally go near, preferring the rural areas. But we took the metro into the centre with our bikes and cycled down the park, which used to be a river, but was diverted and ended up down on the beach. Some astonishing modern architecture too, as well as some fine old buildings.

Many years since we were in Valencia, a night to be remembered, pre Americas cup and F1 gentrification days.

Hostal Neptuno, Paseo neptuno near the beach and the docks, strong possibility rooms rented by the hour, several sleep interruptions....click clack of high heels followed by......noises off!!

An interesting visit:)

Must visit again:D

There is a smart hotel I pass every year around Valencia somewhere with a large sign on it "rooms by the hour". Somewhere on the road around to Sagunto I think ?

Got it in one!! We had a super, warm day cycling in the Turia Gardens and came back about a week later to a little bit of overnight rain:( The flooding is in nearby Betera, where we stayed at a decent camperstop. Graham

great pictures (y)(y)
