Passed with 11 but I haven't driven for 30 odd years and had never driven on motorway but been a passenger often enough and I'm a back seat driver in front passenger seat.:D

I got number 6 wrong - can't remember what it was now...

Edit: Just done the quiz again and it was the one about braking in snow - at least I erred on the side of caution and said 30x :)

You got 12 questions correct: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
YOU GOT

It’s a PASS!

Was that the one about stopping distances in snow and ice?

Good quiz.

Almost a Newbie but not quite now.
13/13
Simple but good quiz.. How many adhere to their answers given I wonder.
On a similar note, who remembers how many colours of cats eyes were used on motorways and can name them and their positions....

Red, Amber and green obviously. In fog they let you know your road position :D

[Edit]
D'Oh! forgot the obvious white ones in the middle, just thinking about the sides!

Congratulations! Now that you have pulled over safely, we’re delighted to inform you that you’ve passed this little motorway driving test. To be honest, most of these questions are very simple and based on common sense, but it’s amazing how many people out there get them wrong. Well, you’ve proved to be a safe driver, and now it’s time for your friends to take the wheel. Share this quiz with them and let’s see if they pass or fail!

just how it worked out I had 18 out of 13, who knows

I got all right.. as far as ice is concerned I'm pretty sure the motorway would be shut if there's sheet ice on it so the 10 times thing is a good rule to follow in icy conditions (plus to get sheet ice over 10 times the braking distance at 70 on a motorway would be pretty unlikely)

Really? Other than red, amber, green and white, my highway code book says that "you may see blue studs, these are for emergency services" not a direct quote, but something like that. I have to say I've never seen any blue studs.
I notice you said used to use, I take it that means that there is a colour that is no longer used? I am intrigued! :D

They used to use both Blue and Purple, Blue for exit/entry to highways depots and purple denoted no hard shoulder.

Not sure I'd have passed if they'd known that I did it on my mobile doing 90 in the middle lane of an empty motorway...

On and off for many years.
Got 6 wrong as well - I had an accident on black ice and you go on for what seems like forever. If snow is deep enough you'll stop pretty quickly :)
