have got a quote from Frank Pickles, insurance is with Highway and European breakdown
cover is with ALPS. This includes various excesses and limited mileage of 5000 miles per year. total is £292.40. Has any of you guys dealt with any of these companies, and would recommend or otherwise? many thanks.

I'm with highway. It's technically a classic car policy, but the policy wording does mention motor caravans, or was it rather quaintly "caravanette"?

No need to claim as yet, so all I can say is that I did get a nice sheet of paper with my certificate of insurance on.

Yes. The policy would almost certainly have some sort of minimum age limit. Highway may also do other non-classic policies if that is what you have.

We use Safeguard insurance for our 2007 motorhome - gives us European cover included and all for under £300. Since buying our motorhome in 2007 we have alternated between the CC and Safeguard and played them off against each other and got the price down - however as we planed to go abroad this year and last we have stuck with Safeguard - never made a claim yet though!

since 2007, 25 years tuggin before that.
Lifesure has always given us the best like for like quote so far.
Have had cheaper quotes(but not much) but with bigger excess or less cover.

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
Frank Pickles are fine (been in business for YONKS) and it's 'Highway Motor Policies at Lloyd's' who are even more ancient LOL All 100% trustworthy and backed by the proper regulatory authorities.

No idea about ALPS.
