Type 2 cannot become type 1.
Type 2 is the inability for the body to use the insulin produced by the pancreas.
It may also be a lower production than needed but it is produced nonetheless.
Tablets control blood glucose levels which would be the role of the insulin if it could be absorbed or was in sufficient quantity
Type 1 is a total lack of insulin production.
Type 1 can only be 'caught' (for a better word) by complete failure of the pancreas to produce any insulin.....the reason it must be injected.
Its amazing what you learn being diabetic (T2)
Sorry that's utter rubbish.
I was diagnosed 40 years ago and was put onto a control regime that meant monitoring closely what I ate and taking tablets.
My Pancras was producing some insulin at that time but as time wore on it produced less and less until it stopped altogether.
So it was onto insulin after 7 years of tablets.
It's a balancing act as you will know ...
