I bought a Renault Trafic from a seemingly good car garage. After a week the gearbox started playing up. I returned van to the dealer whose reply was, sorry about that we will get it fixed for you.
Instead of using a well known local gearbox specialist, they took it to the cheapest quote they got, which happened to be in Colchester, some 60 miles away. So I was without a van for 10 days. When it came back it lasted about a week before it started playing up again. I eventually took it to the local man and got it fixed. My point is the dealer knew about the problem as he had already said to me that it was an inherent problem with Renault vans. Soooo, why didn't you fix it before you sold it to me? Any way I just walked away leaving him................ lying there. Not really but I felt like it. The way I see it a lot of dealers say, have 20/30 cars sitting there waiting to be sold, if they were to repair them all it would come to a few bob. Why not wait for a mug punter to come along and then repair it.
