We are going to the Netherlands in August for 14 days. We will only be driving for a total of about 40 miles in Netherlands. From the Hook to Delft. We are covered in this country.
Do I get breakdown insurance or not?

I suppose it depends on how much it would cost to get additional Europe cover. I would give whoever you are with now a ring and ask how much to upgrade. I suppose the chances of breaking down or having a prang on that 40 miles are pretty remote but God knows how much it would cost to tow you off the motorway.

As always with these things, personal choice.

It's all about how you feel about the risk - it's a personal thing.

Many insurance companies include European cover, have you spoke to your insurance company.

I will contact them again when we get home, I was definitely hold that we were not covered in the UK or Germany as every German has their own cover for their home country.

    Who told you that?

Check the resources here for a translated version of their terms.

I was told earlier this year when I renewed and again when I took out their medical insurance cover later on as well. I can only repeat what I was told, twice!.
