Hi Geo

We had a Landliner about 11 years ago it was a lovely van and when we first saw it we knew it was the van for us, alas it did not have a turbo engine so was a bit short on power so Mick found a 3.5 turbo diesel engine with a view to putting it in but we went to Peterborough show 9 years ago and saw a new Bessecarr and sadly the landliner went  and we were left with the turbo engine in the garage for a few years.

The inside furniture of the van was very well made and there were lots on little things which we missed when we bought the bessecarr, we loved it to bits but time marches on  and you move with the times.

Sheila

P.S. Happy birthday have a lovely day

Hi Geo Landliners are made by O'learys :thumb:::bigsmile:so yes a lot of Swift bits will have been used ::bigsmile: Chances are Mick will still have many parts as /from new ::bigsmile:He is currently having 4 Relay type PVC done down on the farm about 3 miles down the rd from the shop - cannot remember who's converting them for him but I do know who is doing the upholstery  If you need to know anything about the van give Mick a ring http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/

many many years! since I was a kid
autohomes produced the landliner at poole didnt they?? on old wareham road and the site is now split up to several units but charles and son are still based there. charles orchard who started charles and son was the storesman for autohomes. when the firm went under he bought up all the stock to start his new business

plenty of those old vans still on the road as they were built well by craftsmen. common problems are the plastic mouldings which go brittle with age. however you can get copies made from fibreglass from companies like eeco. should be a good project, sure you will enjoy the challenge
