Some have stick on, on/off lables, some have the words on/of or little arrows stamped into the metalwork near the lock, some have symbols, the origin or meanings of which are unknown:Doh:

Sounds like it will put more work our way but I expect the price will go up for the test.
a couple of things to ponder
Are they trying to make us get rid of the older vehicles?
Will the price of the mot be so expensive we all end up buying a new vehicle and change it before its mot ( I know some people do this already)
If people had their vehicles serviced regulary mot failures should be picked up and in theory keep/spread the cost lower/down.
Will more people not bother with an mot/tax /insurance

Talks have taken place , about the options available
I can confirm the target is/was the boy racer, a bit unfair me thinks as there are as many genuine folk out there who for what ever reason want squeez that bit extra out if their engines
The fail critera would be worded something like "Deliberate Modification" as that would be a catch all scenario
Mapping of the original ECU would be virtualy undetectable by the average MoT tester without the aid of specialist knowlege and or equipment
The best Vosa could manage would be to make it a fail item, if it was visualy obvious ie huge ECU with sparktune remap painted on the box, The idea is in reality a non starter as far as VOSA is concerned BUT i its EU directives that are forcing change and the like of Vosa who have to work out how to implement the changes .
In my opinion it wil be on the back burner for a very long time, at lest till the manf have come up with an unmapable ECU then it will be simpler

Hi lin
As you proberbly know only too well, an awull lot of people think the annual mot is their service, and do nothing else in between
yes it will be good for business but we on the front line will take all the flack for the new regs as if we brought them in:Doh:
