I keep getting annoying reminders from my Fiat garage about MOT for my Bessacar E560 2010. These started when the Van was two years old and it won't be three years old till end of June 2013.

I am pretty sure MOT should be every three years for a motor caravan such as ours. Can someone put my mind at rest please.

It needs its first MOT on or before 3 years old, and then every year after that

Just wondering - is the base vehicle (well it's bound to be LOL) older than the reg number?

But anyway our Fiat dealer don't do MH MOTs so no reminders LOL whereas we always get em from the Citroen garage for the car.

Check your V5 for when it was registered :thumb: I have come across vans that were registered then converted and sold as new after 5/6 mths
On my wifes car the dealer had the manufactuers date on thier records not the registered date  Ended up having to take the V5 into them to proove it was still under warranty

It's worth remembering (for the future) that an independent Garage is 40% cheaper (Office of fair trading figures not mine) for servicing, MOT are generally a fixed tarrif

Good point point - I also found that mot and service is a lot cheaper with independent Garags.

Ive just had issues regarding 1st registration.I bought my mh in september 2012 and just happened to call in at Fiat regarding the blue and me system(bluetooth) and purchasing a tom tom for this.(total waste of time by the way). The technician asked me the purchase date and told me it was 1st registered in Feb 2012.I got onto Swift and they have put things right for me.So maybe your base vehicle was 1st registered when it went to Swift to be built.
