Hi,

We've had our motorhome for 2.5 years now. We both worked for a big bank (the one the Spaniards took a liking to!), we were both made redundant and took early retirement at the ages of 52 & 53. Never thought of getting a MH until we were enjoying our "Garden Leave". Spotted one whilst out for a walk one day and we've never regretted buying one. Our dog, an old Weimaraner, hated it to start with, but loves it now. Would love to go abroad with the MH, but our dog wouldn't cope very well with the journey or the heat.

Cheers

welcome to the forum, a lot of members travel with dogs, not everywhere abroad is too hot, try scandanavia, Eire, IOM, Channel Islands or Isle of Wight:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hi,

Thanks for that. It's not only the heat. She has half a stomach, a heart murmur and the back legs are going a bit. She gives us a scare at least once a month. Last month she had a paralyzed larynx whilst she was in kennels. The vet warned us it was touch and go, but as always she bounced back. If we were abroad and this happened, with her other ailments, they probably wouldn't have revived her.

We've been over to the Isle of Wight a couple of times with her. She'd still be ok for that, but we felt exhausted the island, so we'll leave it for a couple of years.

Oh the joys of having a 15 year old dog!!

Cheers

15 years is a good life for a dog and sad though it is I think you must accept the fact that life is no longer fun for her and the kindest thing would be to let her go when you next have a problem. We have lost 4 dogs in 20yrs and 4 horses as well so I do know it is hard, good luck.:Sad::Sad:

Our problem with her (Verdi) is that she bounces around like a spring lamb most of the time. That's part of her problem, she won't slow down!
