Had an email today to say that Microsoft have released both the US and Europe versions of the commercial version of Autoroute for 2013. The Autoroute version has followed fairly quickly behind in recent years so hopefully the mapping will have had a workover.
Once I have had a look at it we will see what improvements are likely.

if anyone who has upgraded to 2013 version still has the 2012 on Disc, I would be interested in buying it. If so please PM me details. Cheers.

Thanks for that I didn't know about the Autoroute 2013 release, I had only seen the commercial version MapPoint.
They usually give a 60 day free download to try before you buy so it should be a good chance to see if it is worth it. I have the 2011 version and apart from extending the mapping to the old Eastern block countries it seems to have no new features from 2010. Must send you a list of the files I have as some providers of information seem to get sensitive about publishing on the web.

Not to sure where Amazon are getting AR 2013 from. Microsoft do not seem to have it on their radar. Did find an interesting review of Streets and Trips on the LaptopGPSWorld site. That usually translates into Autoroute and it gives a clue as to the improved features we can expect in the Europe edition. See this http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/2380-review-microsoft-streets-trips#2013
It looks like they have caught on to the fact that quite a few of us were using the 60 day trial for our holiday trip and are reducing it to 14 days.

I'll be eagerly awaiting this also. 2011 (the last version) was a massive improvement on 2010 and arrived just in time for us in Eastern Europe - the difference was night and day:

    http://www.europebycamper.com/2011/08/microsoft-autoroute-2011-europe-review.html

There was also a twice as many built in POI's as well.

A dashboard mounted laptop and Autoroute with a GPS dongle is (to us) a far better way of navigating when on the road in Europe, depending on your travelling style of course.
