Normandy aires

We went to Normandy last summer and only stayed on aires , all very good and most along the coast are only yards from the beach. The most we spent was 4 euros but most were free!!!

FRANCE & the rest

I think when you say wildcamping you mean Aires de Camping Cars they're free or small charge. We've spent 6 weeks in France and only 5 nights in a camp site (weekly laundry and tidy up). France welcomes campers and you'll met a great crowd of like minded people from all over europe in the Aires. The book Aires de Service Camping cars is very good see http://www.vicarious-shop.co.uk or try this free download site for Aires + GPS for France and the rest of europe:- Link Removed can print or load into your GPS.
This kind of holiday is what campers were made for....enjoy yours .....drive safely

 along the coasts of Cotentin (Manche) east, north and west you can find a lot a free place close to the sea but without services, take the little roads and you will find many nice place where you will be alone ! and for services (water etc..) there is some french aires in Manche (in my memory : Saint Pierre Eglise, Saint Vaast la Hougue, Montebourg, Lessay etc...)
