I'm a newbie
I've just read about the major flooding in Wales overnight. The front page of the BBC News website at the moment shows a motorhome under 4 feet of water. I know we have some lively banter between RV owners and European motorhome owners but I hope no other Funsters are caught up in this.

Your worst nightmare?

Poor sods, I doubt the van will never be the same again.

I really feel sorry for them, what a blow. How does insurance operate in these circumstances, will they be covered? Wife just asked me, how would we stand in the same situation, and I do not know.

HPI check will show it up though. To be honest I doubt that any dealer would touch it but it might well appear on fleabay........ Caveat emptor as with any used goods.

I imagine they can tidy it up for sale, but the problems down the road when the corrosion starts in the habitation electrical systems. Let alone the structural weakness that a soaking like that must cause.

When I saw the title of this thread I was going to make a quip, but reading it my heart goes out to all those who have suffered at the hands of god and the elements

My sister was at her static in Tywyn but it had to be abandoned. The last she saw of it, it was tilting over on one wheel, her kindle is still in it, her daughter in law's handbag is still in it with bank cards, purse etc. One of the van's on the site had been in direct line of the flow and has disappeared. It's probably on in the Irish Sea now. Sadly, her van is only 2 years old and even with an insurance payout, they can't afford another new one.

It is indeed a disaster for all involved
But I couldn't help but raise a smile at some of the comments, no they had me in stitches most of the time, on BBC1 news Saturday morning there were dozens of em but thethree that spring to mind are
Questiions via phone link to stranded resident

Is Riverside camp close to the river:Doh:

How deep is the water in your caravan, has it reached the second floor:ROFLMAO:

Comment during the report

"Most of the flooding is above ground level" Really:Eeek::Eeek:
