"Work on a project to connect Scotland's two motorways in North Lanarkshire will commence next year, following approval by the Scottish Government.
The project involves building a new seven mile-long dual carriageway in Ravenscraig, which will stretch from the Chapelhall junction of the mate, to Airbles Road and the M74.
North Lanarkshire Council has lodged the £73m ($116.9m) proposal under a Tax Incremental Funding (TIF) scheme with the Scottish Futures Trust for funding.
The project has already received planning permission, which involves widening existing main roads, building new dual carriageways and a new roundabout near the main entrance to Strathclyde Park.
The Scottish Futures Trust will initially release a draft of its recommendations before passing the TIF project plan to the Scottish Government for approval, according to eveningtimes.co.uk."

I was up in Glasgow a couple of weeks ago and if it's the same project it's nearly finished. I think it's due for completion in October.

As Will says, work started maybe a year ago with new bridges and it's well under way.

Hi This isnt the work that is going on just now that is to take the M74 around the south side of Glasgow and rejoin the mate near the M77 junction.

The new route that has been posted is to join the M74 near Motherwell to the mate near Newhouse.
