If it were me, I would just keep driving from Cairnryan, driving through the night, no probs with traffic at that time. If you feel tired, pull off at a services or junction, and get a couple hours kip, you'd be surprised how a nap will refresh you.

Upon reflection, we might just do this, the extra stress involved with being stuck in a traffic jam is maybe not worth it. :thumb:

If you can try to get beyond Birmingham before 7am then it shouldn't be to bad for the rest of the way but go clockwise round the M25 not anti-clockwise, you need to avoid the Heathrow area. The north eastern section can be quite busy but not as bad as the north western side. I can only go off my own experience. The only sure way to avoid any delays would be to travel through the night when holdups would be zero.
