Taking our van for its mot tomorrow to leisure tech in clitheroe
Should I be ths nervous!!:winky:
It's an 09, and has passed its others without a hitch,
Having a gas safety check also, so will see if my fitting of gaslowe cylinders and outside barbeque point is up to scratch.
Fingers crossed

Since 2005
always a nail biting time, no matter how new the van.

Save yourself a little worry by checking ALL the lights (Inc number plate lights) and horn work and wiper blades & washers are in good order.

Only takes a few minutes and could make the difference between pass and fail.

Good luck

Still making mistakes! But they're not as costly.
Funny story.
Took our van for it's first MOT last month. It's 2010, but we only got it in March. And it's a LHD, but been in the UK since 2011.

So van in, phoned in the afternoon, van failed :Eeek:

'WFT' I says. it's only done 14k, it's still got the cellophane on the engine'.

'Errrrrm yes, I understand' said Mr. MOT, 'but your headlights are facing the wrong way. You have LHD lights that have NEVER been adjusted'!!

So, after some    from me, they stuck some black electrical tape on the lights and issued the certificate. Imagine that! :whatthe:

Failed on fog light not working, on further inspection I found a wire had chaffed on the chassis and was shorting out, taking back this morning for retest.
Gas and electric all passed fine
Should have checked lights before, but not had van long, and forgot about mot to be honest:Smile:

if the van is permanently imported into the uk (over 6 months) as I understand it, you need to change the lights for right hand drive versions or adjust accordingly. likewise the rear fog lamp may need moving dependent on current position

you certainly cant leave beam benders or tape on the lights permanently to comply. as a seperate issue, the glue on the electrical tape will discolour your lenses if left on too long

i know of numerous people that have imported LHD cars or returned from european postings and had to change headlights on their cars to get them registered in the uk, so am pretty sure they needed to do so for VOSA and MOT requirements

Can I reccomendations leisure tech services in clitheroe
Just had mot and gas safety check carried out there.
All the staff were really friendly and efficient, when I went to pick van up, he haven't had time to complete the paperwork.
Don't worry said Jeff, I'll do the report and email it to you, when you are happy give me a ring and you can pay!
I've never met Jeff before or dealt with leisure tech, so was very trusting of them to let me leave without paying.
He also gave me some advice re putting a cable in some sleeving which ran near the fridge, said he hadn't time to do,it, but gave me a piece of the sleeving, and I've done it myself this afternoon.
All in all a great experience,
