IM thinking a trip on the steam train to witby for some fresh air and fish n chips would be good,:thumb:

are there any staions on that route were you park up the m/h for the day? or is there a better site near to a staiton (not too far o/h donst walk too good)

if you contact the " Inn on The Moor" in Goathland , you can park in their car park , all they ask is you go in for a drink

The rail trip is certainly worthwhile ...... we did the ride from Pickering to Whitby and on the return we got off at each station to explore the area and caught the next train. ... just check the train times to make sure you don't miss the last one.

It depends on how big your motorhome is but Levisham Station just above Pickering has a large car park. It's a fabulous spot, especially as you enter the valley but the roads are quite narrow.

Whoops , should have said were 7.3mts so not that big but won't fit on a standard car bay

When I say it's a large car park I don't mean one which is marked out in bays. It is a large area mainly tarmac/gravel surfaced. Because of it's remoteness it is usually very quiet. However I would suggest checking the approach road out on Google Earth to satisfy yourself of it's suitability.

We parked in the pay and display at Goathland a couple of weeks ago. Plenty space there and the attendant has a place he puts longer motor homes so you should be fine.
