can anyone recommend any books etc. on the above

doubtful you will find anything of much use.

while they are all the same in principle, they are all differently wired.

i have a general/universal american RV wiring book and very little is in common with my wiring.

the haynes manual is pretty basic but does give an idiots guide from memory. or go on EBay and buy a copy of the manual on DVD for a couple of quid

too generalised to be of any proper use....rather she'd bought me chocolates.

Just ask on here :thumb:someone will know the answer no matter how stupid the question seems -- if you don't know the answer then it's not a stupid question
On leccy bits I would start by seeing what works then start pulling fuses etc to see what does not work making a list as you go along :thumb:
