Excuse my ignorance,,

But are the connections the same on the continent as the UK for filling road tanks with LPG.

And the refillable gas bottle for cooking/heating can they be bought over here and used on the continent ?
Thanks.

To be sure, you will need three different autogas adaptors - one is a bayonet fitting, another a large screw thread and the third is a concave dish shape.

I'm told that UK refillable bottles can only be swapped in very few specialist outlets.

I'm told it is in retaliation for not converting to Euros.

Correct:

Bayonet: UK, Holland
Acme Screw: Belgium
French Claw: France, Italy, Spain

Just in case you need it the French fitting also works in

Turkey
China
Russia

and I don't accept the statement about the Euro it is probably the Brit PC Brigade who chose the bayonet fitting because I have not found anywhere else who us it.

Is this regarding fuelling the road tank ?
If so what has to be changed the coupling on the fuel tank ? and if so how is that done ?

Surely it is dangerous to undo the coupling on the road fuel tank,, is`nt it preasurised if it can be done..

I understand the changes regarding regulators on your loose gas bottle for cooking/fridge/& heating,, but not the pro`s and cons of gas for actual running of the vehicle engine..

Bearing in mind mine is a yanky truck with a fifth wheel,

Thanks

Road tank or house gas makes no odds, no need to unscrew any couplings, the adaptors fit the existing filling point.. see some examples here :

shop around you may find them cheaper, also try ebay
