As many of you know, our motorhome non LEZ compliant from October this year (2010)
Although the scheme is currently under suspension be aware this is due to change over the next month.
The UK are pushing for the scheme to be suspended a further 2 years until 2012 however no decision on this has been made.
I have today spoken to Transport for London who are responsible for operating the LEZ scheme.
I was told that a FORMAL decision will be announced in May and to go by the LEZ compliance checker as the correct source of information.
If the suspension until 2012 is NOT granted, this means that owners of diesel motorhomes that are showing as non compliant on the LEZ compliance checker (and either live with the LEZ or are visiting within the LEZ area) will need to book their vehicle into a VOSA site for specialist compliance testing.
If the motorhome passes the testing an exemption certificate will be issued.
If the motorhome fails the testing VOSA staff are apparently able to give expert advice on how to ensure the motorhome can be altered to ensure it is complaint.
You can find all the information here :- http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/lez/default.aspx
Good luck all whose vehicles are showing as non compliant from 4 October 2010
