Lost all channels except 5 (1 Viewer)

I know some of you are going to say that we should not expect get BBC & ITV as far down as the south of France but, we have had all channels until Monday. Using Oyster Vision 2 with 85cm dish.

In the Camarge no problems at all we moved to Marseillan Plage on Sunday and the dish locked on and we had both BBC and ITV. Monday BBC disappeared then yesterday ITV went as well. Today we have nothing except channel 5. The dish has not moved yet we are getting no signal.

I have looked at the transponder setting and they donot relate to what is on the LAS site should I change them to that? Although that is confusing as it appears to give 2 settings for transponder 0.

Why should everything just disappear? has there been some change on the satellite front recently perhaps @Satandpcguy will be able to give some avice.

When we were down there in February, the weather really made a difference, even cloud cover reduced signal, rain killed it

We have french friends near Pezenas who watched UK TV but gave up after the satellite was changed as too unpredictable so guess sometimes you might get and sometimes you won't certainly not without a much bigger dish .

Had an Oyster on the last van, in the Camargue it was pot luck one day you would get a signal next day nought.

sunspot activity can affect satellite signals..

C5 is on the UK beam... but is one of the strongest on the uk beam.... so if you have lost the other uk beam channels like bbc and itv, then either your dish is out of alignment very slightly, or and probably more likely, your dish is right on its limit, and the signals will be coming and going....

As for "transponder" settings - bbc channels are on 6 transponders, itv on 7 transponders, C4 on two and five on one.... which you use depends on which channel and region you want to watch...
