As eBay have at least tried to tighten up on scammers, they have moved on to gumtree..
Not saying that one is a wrong 'un, but always be VERY careful when contacting anyone on there !

You're right Jaws, probably should have mentioned that on the original post.
Gumtree in particular is FULL of scammers and bogus adverts.
To the seasoned motorhomer they are normally easy to spot, but to an unsuspecting individual..... that 15 year old van for 6k seems very believable

not long enough
Have I missed something here?? Good to remind people to be aware of scams, but £18K for a 2002 MH is about right surely, maybe slightly under retail but not far

What else gives this away, I can't see the £6K price you say about

David, I don't think it's a scam, just someone who wants a quick sale for a couple of thousand over trade price.
I suspect this van retails towards 25k.
More recent Starlines with the 2.7cdi engine always seem to fetch top dollar....and sell quickly !

Yesss.. Recently the scammers are getting a little wiser.
They have ( sadly ) realised that putting a £30K van up for £8k is fooling less and less people, so they are now starting to use more realistic prices that are still bargains but not crazy ones.
