    Hi,

It may be worth trying the link given by "Diabalo" in an earlier thread Woolmans Wood Tourist Caravan and Camping Park as they may well do long term and i would think may be open to some form of negotiation on price.

    hope that helps

Sorry Just read that due to its size its not suitable for Children, albeit I wonder if for long term stays it may still be worth given them, a ring if you have trouble finding anywhere better suited.

Jim, You don't seem to have many suggestions so for my contribution, although not close to Rochester, is near Ashford.

Close to the village of Great Chart is a farm that is a CL on a field that has had road scrapings put down when it was a farm, so although it looks like grass it is very firm. £8 a night last year I think it was. A bit of a drive to Rochester but we have stayed on it many times including in our RV, plenty of room.

    Found it:

Hi, Here's another couple that I found on the ukcampsite.co.uk web site that may be worth checking, its worth checking the ukcampsite.co.uk, camp site search facility as it is really useful and has a lot of individual reports on the sites so you can get an idea if its suitability.

    Hi

Yes, I've been looking at the CC listings, but it's always hard to determine if they are suitable for an RV, a personal recommendation from a fellow RVer is a the best.. If I was local I would scout about in the car..

    Thanks again

Indeed, and I often do but I've had bum steers from site owners who say they have enough space, then when you turn up they look aghast.. mouth drops.. sharp intake of breath.. .. ohhh never realised you were that big..

    Hi

I know the feeling!! Like trying to "negotiate" with CC wardens, on sites I`ve been to many times before that "yes I can get on the pitch I`ve been before, but you where not here then" to whch the stock reply is "but the book says 28ft". and I say "yes but the book is there as a guide, and I have been on pitch XX XX XX XX before, so what is the problem?"
to which the reply is (sometimes) yes but the "rules" say we cannot reserve pitch`s!, at this point I usually politely say, but as a 30 year member of the CC I am not asking you to "reserve" a pitch, merely to allocate the smaller units to less restrictive pitches on arrival, and to bear in mind that when I turn up ( and I TRY to be nice and early) I am 30ft long? where is the harm in that?.

Lets hope it works at Christmas Eh? `cos I love York!!

    Pete
