I have Wednesday & Thursday off and thought we would go away for another night.

What I would really like is to wake up looking directly at the sea. No driving. No walking 100 yards. Just looking out of the window and there it is clear as day.

Failing that a nice lake or river.

EHU needed while we sort our power demands out.

And preferably within 2 hours drive of Sheffield as the missus does not finish work until 4pm Wednesday. Although she may be able to sneak out at 3pm

Thanks in advance
Dave

Lyndon Top is a lovely quiet site overlooking Rutland Water about 1hr 40 min from you, However, no EHU and grass pitches so may not suit.

The Keswick C & CC site if you can get a pitch on the lake side. Probably will take longer than a couple of hours to get there.

That was my first thought, but google Maps says 3h15m approx.

How about Wirral Country Park (90miles): just checked and either it is closed or it no longer exists :xsad:

I suspect you may have to travel for more than 2h for a sea view.

Good luck - Gordon

We have chosen. And there is no sea or lake view :-(

Might be wrong time of year as you say.
Instead we're off to Chatsworth House site. Figure they will have lots of Christmas stuff going on and then there is the adventure playground and farm shop etc.

Just doing the one night out plan to pay for 2 so we can stay until after dinner before heading home and make use of the place.

Should get to test out the TV as well :)

Wow, Glencaple looks like a fantastic stop over on route to the Highlands at about five hours from home for us.

It is but don't tell everyone, the Nidd Hotel is just behind and does good food including this for a tenner on a Tuesday!
But don't tell everyone!;)

Which bit of Wirral Coutnry Park? It's the proper name of the Wirral way, I can go check. They have very recently been doing a lot of work on one of the carparks of the Wirral Way so it may be that one
