Looking for a decent aire near Nice (1 Viewer)

I have all the usual apps, but struggling to find a decent aire near Nice. I did try the search option here, but get thousands of results of things that are 'nice' and not Nice - the one in France

Just need a stopover for Thursday before banging into Italy to a pre booked site ( and dont get me started on trying to find decent affordable sites in Italy on the northern coast )

Done campercontact and sfs. Nothing great jumping out at me. Just want to be able to get on the motorway from there down to Massa. Any suggestions???

One on the French Italian border at menton

The one in ST Laurent de Var is is good, on a bus route direct into town up the promenade des Anglais even onto Monte and Menton BUT is terribly over subscribed get there very early.

That's the one I currently have plugged into the sat nav. Not much about is there!

Had a look on campingcars info and there does not look like there is anything very close.
when we were there a couple of years ago there was a big carpark up by the narrow gauge railway station where the trains go off into the mountains. (may have been built over though lots of work going on)

Dave there's nothing in that area, and there's only one main road through, which gets absolutely chocker, coming to a standstill in many places. Unless you're planning on staying for a couple of weeks I'de give the Cote d'azur and Riviera a miss!

Shame but I have gathered this now!!!

It's not that I wanted to go there, but was a convenient stopover from where we are now ( Castellane, Rhone Alps - gorgeous btw!) to where we need to be on Friday ( Massa, Italy) and didn't want to get into Italy too soon as its shite and expensive ( I only speak from site reviews, not experience )

I have a plan b and c and d so let's see what happens tomorrow !!!

Sat nav won't even let me go that way, tried inputting the aire at the border crossing and it refused that too! Apparently 3.5t limit and we are 5 t

This a bit of a steep climb once you get into the site. There's a parking spot in St Paul du Venice on Park4night.

I have been telling people on here about park4night for at least a year now but just get knocked back , it is without doubt the best site on the web for finding sites.
Www.searchforsites.co.uk runs it a close second.

If any of you are in France passion there is a good one about ten miles up the border from ventimiglia , no kidding there is a tape across it one side is in France and the other in Italy , if you are in fp the France side is free but you can park on the Italian side if you pay
