Hi Sue, used this route a few times for the bike racing in N/Ireland it goes from Birkenhead easy to get to but if your coming from Liverpool side you can only use Wallasey tunnel as 3.5 ton limit on other.

Over this week on the Cairnryan and for a van under 6m driver and one passenger return fare was £296..
I was shocked at it been so high given time year but my options were limited so couldn't pick other dates which might have helped.. normally get a single for under £100..
