Heads up for any people considering traveling through Belgium via Lille in to France. We were stuck in a 65 minute traffic jam on 16 March as the main motorway was diverted in to a single lane via a car parking area where vehicles were arbitrarily pulled over for a spot check and search. Some great entertainment with trucks blocking lanes and irate motorists! The diversions looked reasonably permanent. Open borders pah! (I do get why thought!)

It has been on the news today that they found the Paris shooting organiser today in Belgium

Pretty sure that will be the reason for the checks (y)

Yep we assumed it was for that reason. No complaints, the side show was quite entertaining and having retired last Friday what's the rush!

Nope RS 200 in Lake Garda a couple of years ago. We came too sailing way to late to be really competitive but we have great fun. We don't eat enough pies to sail a 400! (I'll duck now waiting for the brick bats!)
