It's time to start a 'bottom drawer' collection for my first motor home. I thought i would check to see if these are suitable for an Apache 700.

Let me know if there is something more suitable please.

I'm thinking of ordering Fiamma level up jumbo kit.

http://www.leisureoutlet.com/levell...422-fiamma-level-up-jumbo-levelling-kit--grey

They seem reasonably priced but not sure if these are the best option for me.

Thanks

I'm sure they would be fine in most circumstances but a pair of Milenco Quattros would give a little extra lift when needed.
If you are not in a hurry I would suggest looking out for second hand which will be even cheaper.

There are "level" people and "handbrake" people..

The serious "level" people i have seen spend ages on getting things right, using spirit levels, walking in and out.
Then even moving the van an hour later as not quite right.

Handbrake, pull up and that will do..(y) Think that's me.. Unless I am in for a long stay..

The one's in your link are similar to mine and do most of the time. There will always be an occassion where the bigger ones are needed.. Just depends how fussy you will become..;)

ps.. Get ready for the " you have to be level for your fridge to work brigade"... On a serious note, yes need to be somewhat level but in 17 years mine have always worked everywhere I parked..

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
Millenco Quattros work for us, we also have the lower yellow fiamma when we don`t need to raise the van up that high, a simple level placed on the hob takes minutes to level the motorhome, no need to go out and look at it, EHU cable plugged in and kettle on.
Job done.

The fridge being level is not necessarily a function of will it wont it work today, but one of a long term pooling of the chemicals causing crystallization and failure in the long term. I munched 3 of these but with my US RV. I now have levelling jacks, if you would like some serious art under your wheels I will let the attached go for a good price?

Thanks. Those Milleno Quattros look more substantial than the Fiamma ones. I'm glad I asked now!

We had/have the Milenco Triples, they were adequate for virtually all situations. Friends had the old fiamma yellow ones too low so they bought the Milenco Quattros and they are huge, great for levelling but storage was a PIA, also quite heavy for his missus to handle. Not sure how much storage your van will have but if limited then check out the size first.

We have a long van and the Mullen Quattros are essential for us.. we always seem to be using the upper level.

So much so that am thinking of E&P hydraulic levelling

Rough guide price for that sort of system? I suspect it will make me choke!

not long enough
not sure about the HPC prices, but we have E + P and didn't get much change from £5K (y)

brilliant though, stops the rocking when moving around, or in my case being a little on the large side, the springboard effect as I launch myself off the step :)(y)

Now you are just showing off.... I use a couple of barrage balloons tied to the bike rack to hitch the old girl up...

As for the motorhome well, .....

Just had them fitted E&P, including the remote 4781.00. AS Suspension, I think just as good if anything the on board control better, but the remote was extortionate 300 plus, also as only one fitter the installtion dates were a couple of month whereas E&P a couple of weeks.

Kept the Milenco blocks in the van for the first 2 outings but have now removed and wondering what to do with all the useful storage freed up:D

We used Fiamma until we bought Millenco, which are just a bit higher. Not a lot in it really, although Millenco don't sink into grass so much.

I've got Fiamma Jumbo now and prefer them to stepped type. Also didn't like how the Milenco triple ramps dig into 16" tyres.

Funny you should mention it, these arrived today from amazon @£25.90 delivered, only ordered late on Friday night. Not the jumbo ones but only a few mm lower and narrower but seem ok. I will screw a bit of plywood or something to the underside to stop them sinking in the ground and getting clogged full of crap and a bit of webbing to stop them slipping away.

many many years! since I was a kid
the issue with the smaller levelers is that they are designed for caravans. put a 3500kg plus motorhome on them and they squash and crack

I have the Fiamma ones, not great but take up less space than the enormous Quattro ones, which I did have but flogged to save space. I very rarely use any as my MH is decidedly rear up when on the level so if there is a slope I just need to park the right way round. The only place I usually can't get reasonably level is on the level, if that makes sense, fortunately very few places are.

Has anyone tried stacking 2 of the yellow Fiamma levelling blocks one on top of the other? They seem to slot together well.

I've done it with the Fiamma Magnum ones and it works OK but makes it a steep angle, that's why I changed to the bigger Jumbos.
