Sadly my leisure bty is on its last legs & I wish to purchase a Elecsol 110 amp Carbon Fibre bty which has a 5 yr guarantee. Seen them on E Bay for around £110 :Eeek:and as I live in Plymouth does anyone know of a supplier in the SW?:thumb:

Plymouth Battery Centre stock Elecsol.

Do be aware, however, that reports of having to jump through impossible hoops to get warranties honoured (By Elecsol - not the battery centre!) have led others back to ...well...lead.

As with all these things, there are those that are happy so far, and those that have had the expense of getting engineers reports, postage of the battery back and so on before they will replace.

That is for you to research and decide.

A good leisure, with a trickle maintainer (charge & discharge) on it will easily see 3-5 years at least.

If you use EHU and want a battery just to get you by for quick stops en-route, buy a 'leisure' battery.
If you want to camp 'off-grid' for days at a time, bite the bullet and buy a decent traction monobloc! Trojan and Dyno are names which spring to mind.
Most leisure batteries have a leisurely performance, hence the name!!!!!!!::bigsmile:

1000 cycles from what discharge state ?

many manufacturers make unrealistic claims regarding this and many are really taking the pi$$.

1000 cycles from 20% discharge is a favourite claim.
off grid camping for a couple of days will see a deeper discharge than 20%

how many cycles from 50% discharge ?...a more realistic discharge figure

and the 5 year warranty is pro-rata.....if you get any joy at all......so a 3 year old battery will get you just 40% of the cost refunded or, more likely, discounted off a new battery.
