Hi every one ,
my leisure battery mains charged, lasts about 2weeks then goes flat,
all switches are off, do i need anew battery or is this normal,
avanguard 200.:RollEyes:

Sounds like bad news.


I just came home after 2 months away, unfortunately the van was not on hook up or run at all during the 2 months.

Leisure battery still at 12.6 volts.

you may have something running directly from the battery.....intruder or gas alarm etc.

if not then i would think about a replacement soon.

Disconnect one side of the battery and put a meter across set to measure in the 100mA range. This will show if there is a small constant drain such as an alarm. Even a very small drain will flatten a battery in a week or so.
In my case at this time of year the low water alarm (tank is drained) uses a bit.

just to clarify in case you arent sure.....put the meter between the battery terminal and the lead you took off.

put it across the battery and you need a new meter instantly :Sad:
