Can any of you funsters tell me where I can get parts to make a battery vent. I need an elbow to fit into vent hole at the top of the battery, also a bung to seal the vent at the other end of battery and tube to fit the elbow.

No idea where you will get ' proper' parts but this may get you out of trouble.

windscreen washer jet plumbing.....

any motoring shop will stock the T pieces, 90 deg elbows and tubing.
if you cant get an elbow just cut off one ' leg' of a T and seal the open end with a little araldite.
if the plastic elbow/T is too small for the hole then use a little more araldite to glue it ln....dont get any in the T piece.
again using araldite, fill the hole at the opposite end of the battery.
