Hi all thanks so much - we have just returned from a caravan mechanic.... There was a "burnout" connection / end bit on one of the wires leading from the battery to the B2B CHARGING UNIT . They replaced that wire / connection and all APPEARS to be charging.
The control panel/ electrics are now operating when the car engine is not running.
So we are not sure if the "burn out" occurred PRIOR to us purchasing the new battery OR because we bought a "car" battery (not a specific leisure battery) the burnout has occurred because of the NEW fully charge battery...
Thanks again for all of the advice - the van salesman did recommend we purchase a "leisure battery" however after spending€140 on a battery 4 days ago.... We are hoping this won't be necessary. @Lenny HB the portable solar sounds like an idea cheers
