I bought 2 of these last year, same as hilldweller not a direct replacement, but an easy fix, more than happy with the light output.

I don't know what colour temperature they are, but I MUCH prefer Warm White to the very antiseptic 'blue' white of many of these led lights.

I changed our lighting over to LED's with these.

They fit directly into the existing downlights and spotlights / reading lights without need for adapters..

Cold white. They replaced some expensive warm white modules, one of which failed, but since they are the "bulk" lighting of the van and only on when we need LIGHT I don't think the harsh light will be a problem.

For reading or TV we have warm white in little spotlights.

LEDs are really becoming viable now, a yank firm has just demonstrated a mains lamp with greater light output and lower current than an energy saving lamp. These ridiculous little florescent bulbs will be a thing of the past in the not too far distant future.

These are a little different to the ones I get from Hong Kong. I like them and have ordered 10 of them for £15.80 including postage.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

    Hi,
I want to replace my 10x fluorescent tubes in the motorhome with LEDs. Can this be done without incurring a major wiring job?

If they are 12V yes. But of all non-LED lights fluorescents are the most efficient. Hard to beat.

DIY I'd gut the control out of the fitting, get some LED strips tape into the cover and see how you go. Something like ebay 320619107746

ordered 6, got them today and tried it out... excellent little set up - better light than the horseshoe things that are in the main hab lights

Now to fin more uses around the van...auto on in the garage, cupboards and around the hab door and all that, and even looking around the kitchen in the house for under cupboard lighting - coupled with a 240 -12v transformer from ebay (99p)

So - thanks for the tip off :thumb:

You're welcome. Sat here in Whitby lit by 3 of them, I'm delighted by the brightness, in fact I can unplug one and the two remaining are bright enough.

    Hi Ian
Yep done all mine with these, as Brian says take out all the gubbins and just wire the led strips to the switch. Unfortunatly I didn't take any photos but it realy is quite easy to do.:thumb:
