If you are planning to go to this site near Le Mans then don't! We booked and paid for 3 nights on the internet and when we turned up it was closed. The guy who owns the restaurant opposite says that this is a regular occurence.

The rest of the trip was fantastic (it was our first to FRrance in our new,15 years old, van).

We found some great sites and experienced two great Aires at Jard sur Mer and St Valery sur Somme on our travels through the Loire and Vendee. Can't wait to book the next trip!

You should never need to book in France. I have been going for many years and have never been refused a stay at any site. The French way is to look round the site before you decide to stay, if you don't like it just drive away.

We were there in May. Sounds off-peak but it wasn't - we were in Le Mans for the Motogp - we didn't book but had no problem, and it was just delightful (mind you, after our two overnights near the circuit, the M25 hard shoulder would have been quiet! Now I know what 'wild' camping really means!). It was expensive mind - we put that down to the fact that it was a peak weekend.
