Please can any one help me, sorry but can't figure it out, when my lap top is switched on but I leave it for a couple of minutes how do I stop the screen shutting down to quickly, now its going off after 1 minute and I would like it longer. (someone fiddled with it) and its driving me mad.

Can't find anything that says Power options on Control Panel.

Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Power Options/Edit Plan Settings.

You can choose different options for when battery and mains powered.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options..

You can change it there...

You may have to click on "Choose when to turn off the display" instead of Edit Plan Settings.

Coor I have worked my way through and have found power options, which one do I select out of the options given please.

The options are.

Change battery settings

Change what power buttons do

change when computer sleeps

adjust screen brightenss.

Choose.

"change when computer sleeps"


then you will see the times (minutes) for both battery and plugged in.


Adjust the times to your preferences,

then click "save changes" at the bottom... :thumb::thumb:

Thank you everyone for your help, made me explore the ins and outs of my computer a bit more, could not find the classic view Ken, but made me explore a bit more, but callumwa spot on and all sorted.
