A bit top heavy if you don't mind me saying so.

Well, it's still top heavy if you do mind me saying so. Get some life into that magnificent, and on FUN quite neglected, lake.
Top heavy ?

just looked it up... looks a beautiful place:thumb:

It sure is. The closest of the big Italian lakes to here, only about 700 miles from Calais.

It quite different to the ever popular Garda, not so exploited. But there some grand sites on it. Garda has nothing like the Borromean Islands.

The top end is in Switzerland so you can take a boat trip from Italy to Switzerland and back.

We've used it many times as a base to visit an exhibition in Milan. And fell in love with Italy at the same time.

There is a marvellous small campsite in Cannaro Riviera. Try the town, you will not be disappointed.

Our route, originally on a bike, is via Chamonix. The Mont Blanc tunnel is a bit pricey for a MH but to visit Chamonix then Maggiore is worth the expense.

Excellent campsite right in the middle of Chamonix opposite the hospital and a short walk into town.

have looked at monte blanc tunnel it appears to be about 60 Euros for a motorhome which is abit expensive but probably cheaper than driving around.

Yes, that ultra bright cloud is more or less hiding the lake, it locks your eyes on one part of the photo. It needs the lake livening up.
Right see What you mean, the shot was taken on a little compact and wasn't intended to be a particularly great photo just trying to catch the cloud as it was, only lasted like that couple of minutes, but I agree with you regarding the composition.

how does italy compare with france for motorhoming ive heard there are no aires and wilding is frowned on so i assume its a good deal more exspensive i ask as weve been down through france twice last year\ and am thinking of going to italy first this yeardo we need to go through switzerland? if so how exspensive is the vignette for a 3.5 tonne van do we have to go through the mount blanc tunnel or is there a more picturesque route
are there lake side resorts as we do like a swim
