Not looking for an argument or playground semantics Bill. Have holidays in Garda for 30 years including every one of he last 14 years? Not stupid Bill have stayed there and eaten! its a holiday camp compared to far nicer Italian sites!

Anyway my advise comes free and unbiased...take it or leave it

another lovely morning here at casa del garda aka ukbill,not sure what to do today,think im still on a high after leaving the crap hse that is britain behind,maybe a train ride to verona will be nice,or might just ppl watch on the lake shores.its a hard life

We used the site at desenzano del Garda, called camping San Francisco, nice site, lots of facilities

A risky time of year for the lakes...Iseo town and lake nearby a nice alternative to Garda. Far more down to earth prices as well and just as beautiful.....

It's worth a look Bill not far.....we like the area a boat trip to island with bikes a must do. Few nice small sites walking distance from the pretty town of Iseo

As for better weather heavens knows......Rome weather should be much better. Lakes always a bit cooler and wetter.

its ok eddie here for couple months,im just biding time till my daughter flies out on the 21st,then another 20 days.here after that,i can go looking now but no worth the hassle although i may slip over to lida de jesolo

Don't worry then weather will pick up.. Venice nice any time of year. Rain? have a city break. Heartbroken this year have never spent a UK summer at home! First one in over 30 years. Health real bad now.....
