We visited Lake Annecy in 2008 and stayed in one of the campsites (Camping Europa) close to the lake edge.
A stunning place, great walks, great views and a great place to visit. We met some local fishermen who were using Fly lines and and nymph fishing deep down and catch some superb fish for the table. I was really tempted to hire a boat as I had my fly gear with me. This must also be the place where all the para gliders come. We watched hundreds of them taking off and soaring around the mountains. The Town of Annecy is also worth a visit with some very nice bars and restaurants. A great way to spend a week or more.
