Have any of you visited La Alberca. Tomorrow we leave for an orienteering event near Ciudad Rodrigo and then we have over a week to fill before going to Penamacor in Portugal to help our orienteering friends there to organise an international competition. We have, for many years, had La Alberca on our hit list and now seems an ideal opportunity. Have any of you visited? Have you biked or walked from there? We know there is a camperstop and will head there, but any personal recommendations are welcome.

We have stayed there, its at the back of a big car park by a park information centre on the edge of La Alberca. We had a nice drive up to it past orchards with pigs grazing on acorns etc. The town itself is interesting, lots of dried ham and pork products on display. Interesting old town. We would have explored the park further but the weather turned a bit cold.

Thanx. Thought we had beaten the Funsters as no replies. If anyone is interested I'll post our trip.

At present at the orienteering, parked with many Spanish motorhomes with resulting Spanish vocals! Tomorrow we run in the streets of Ciudad Rodrigo then we have free time until next Saturday when we meet up with Portuguese friends in Penamacor.
