It won't pass an inspection required by the VCA so you won't be able to get the VCA certificate you need to be able to register ghe vehicle.
Purchased from UK dealer and registered by them 15 months ago.
Not sure how they managed it but I guess the DVLA go by the EU conformity certificate ??? or some such.

If your van was registered after April 2012 is has been done so illegally.
Since that date you need a certificate from the VCA to register a vehicle and to get that your vehicle must conform to the lighting and speed regulations. The VCA require a statement from a VAT registered garage or an MOT station stating that it does and the Certificate of Conformity.

Just to add fuel to this argument, in 2014 we imported a LHD van from France and it could NOT be registered in the UK by the DVLA until we had a type approval certificate from the VCA. The lights and Speedo had to be changed. It sounds like the garage have not carried out the changes just the paperwork.
