I have replaced the fluorescent light in our kitchen twice now, and both times it fails after a matter of hours of use. It's powered from the 12V leisure battery, which is in good condition. We don't use EHU.

This is the one I've been buying, is it the wrong type?

Good morning,
For the same sort of money you could buy a few metres of self adhesive LED strip.
Take all the fluorescent gubbins out of the housing & wire in the LED's using the units switch & power supply. More durable & less power hungry.

That's what I did in the bathroom of our Bolero, easy to do and no problems since......

Yes. It is for 240V not 12V according the details in the auction. I am surprised it worked at all.
My understanding is that it is the drive circuitry - the ballast - which determines the voltage required, not the tube itself.
